Wrekin College is a flourishing co-educational day and boarding school in a beautiful part of Britain.

Well served by transport links, it combines the benefits of rural and urban living, and is an unusually happy place to work and study. The school community is very strong, with excellent relationships between pupils and staff.

Heads Welcome

Wrekin is most interested in bringing as diverse a group of people as possible together under one banner and stretching, challenging and supporting them to not only be the best version of themselves as individuals, but to work together such that we all see that together we all add up to one.

Wrekin is 140 years old in 2020, with all the traditions of an English education. But it is also a cosmopolitan, vibrant community.  We have two junior houses and six senior houses, three of which accommodate both our UK and international boarders combined.  Opportunities abound in music, art, sport, drama, debating, Combined Cadet Force and Duke of Edinburgh, as well as many other activities. However, our focus is on academic achievement, producing well-educated and rounded individuals, with a wealth of skills to enable them to confidently enter the world of further education and employment.

Wrekin is:

  • a school which every child believes is ‘their school’,
and where every child has an equal chance to contribute
  • a school that takes pride in itself, but is never complacent
  • a school where pupils understand that a first-rate
education is a privilege, and one they have a duty
to live up to
  • a school which is more than the sum of its parts,
offering everything other great schools offer and something more – a Wrekin education.
