Woldingham is a vibrant and flourishing school community, with inspirational teaching in a supportive and stretching environment. As one of the oldest schools for girls in the UK, Woldingham has been a pioneer of girls’ education since 1842. Facilities are outstanding. Alongside professional-standard drama and music performance and rehearsal spaces, including a 630-seat theatre, Woldingham has light-filled art studios, excellent sport facilities, fantastic science labs, stimulating classrooms and a state-of-the-art Sixth Form Centre, which includes a lecture theatre, collaboration room and a café. Boarding facilities are first-rate, where younger students share rooms in Years 7 to 9, with individual study bedrooms for students in Years 10 and up, including ensuite rooms for Upper Sixth.
With a train station exiting straight into school grounds, Woldingham is a 30-minute journey from central London as well as a short drive from both Gatwick and Heathrow.

Girls achieve outstanding GCSE and A Level results. In 2024, 51% of A Level grades awarded were A*/A, with 82% A*-B. For STEM subjects, 72% of A Level grades were A*/A. At GCSE, 31% of all results were at grade 9, with more than three quarters grade 9-7. Students secure places at leading UK and international universities, opening doors to exciting careers.
Students choose from a wide range of academic enrichment opportunities, including a vibrant talks series, leadership and coaching programmes and real-world business projects. Woldingham also has dynamic programmes for our academic and co-curricular scholars.
Woldingham boasts an exceptional programme of sport, performing arts, clubs and societies, enabling students to develop a comprehensive range of skills, expertise and interests.
With excellent indoor and outdoor sports facilities, hockey, netball, cricket and swimming teams compete locally and regionally with first-class training from specialist coaches. The tennis dome allows year-round play, as well as on outside courts in the summer. There is an indoor swimming pool, squash courts, gym, dance studio and our multi-purpose sports hall hosts indoor cricket nets and astroturf rollout pitches.

Widely recognised as a school which provides outstanding pastoral care, Woldingham is one of a small number of UK schools offering timetabled wellbeing lessons, where each girl is supported to be mentally and physically healthy, equipped with critical thinking skills to make better decisions and manage challenges now and in the future. We will have a dedicated Wellbeing Centre from September 2025.
