St Leonards nurtures artists, academics, actors, sportspersons and all-rounders: pupils are encouraged to pursue their passions and to push themselves with new experiences. This is underpinned by the all-through International Baccalaureate curriculum which places equal emphasis on the arts, humanities, mathematics, social sciences, natural sciences and languages, plus interdisciplinary learning. Pupils are encouraged to look beyond traditional boundaries and to think critically and creatively, all within a global context. This coherent approach to teaching and learning ensures that, year-on-year, leavers secure places at top UK and international universities.

The curriculum is complemented, indeed completed, by a thriving programme of activities, which makes the most of the School’s location in the heart of St Andrews. Pupils are immersed in the vibrant social, cultural, academic and sporting life of the town, whether that be honing subtraction skills on the beach, or playing the world-class Links golf courses.

Full, flexi, and weekly boarding is available from age 10. The three boarding houses are stylish and spacious, having undergone an extensive programme of redevelopment. Family is at the heart of the houses: weekends and evenings are filled with fun and friendship, ice creams from the local gelateria, beach walks, baking, craft activities, time spent toasting marshmallows over the fire pit under the stars, and cosmopolitan trips ‘up town’.
