Founded in 1896, Scarborough College is a leading independent school in the Northeast, nestled between the stunning North Sea coast and the North Yorkshire Moors. The College offers a forward-facing and holistic education to boys and girls aged three to 18.
Scarborough College pupils have a love of learning and possess a ‘can do’ attitude. Our stunning location on the beautiful Yorkshire coast combined with our world class boarding facilities provide a home from home for all boarding pupils. Being an IB School, our pupils are globally aware, adventurous and go on to study at the best universities around the world.
True to our founding principles of offering an outstanding education; we offer GCSEs, an exceptional range of co-curricular activities and an IB-only Sixth Form. Our recognised Yorkshire Grit programme is a vital part of our curriculum, providing challenges beyond the classroom and an opportunity for pupils to become resilient, collaborative and compassionate individuals.
Sports play a central role in the College. Hockey and rugby as representative sports and the College has two Centres of Excellence – cricket and golf – for boys and girls who are committed to train and perform at a higher level.
The SC Visual Arts department is ranked among the top performing in the country and through our cooperation with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, we have nearly a quarter of our pupils taking LAMDA examinations each year.
Following recent investments, Scarborough College’s boarding facilities rank among the very best in the country.
