Aysgarth School is renowned for its award-winning pastoral care and excellent academic results. Predominantly a boarding school, with 85% of pupils boarding to some extent. Saturday lessons and daily chapel services. Annually, Aysgarth sends pupils to over 20 notable senior schools, and in September 2024, over 50% of Year 8 leavers began at their new schools with a scholarship.
Aysgarth children are encouraged to make the very most of their potential and the opportunities given. Whilst academic rigour is paramount, our children thrive in the fields of sport, music, drama and art. An extensive extracurricular programme provides further scope to build self-confidence and develop new skills. Kindness and service to others are central to a child’s journey through Aysgarth.
Aysgarth parents hold the school in the highest esteem, citing our ethos and atmosphere as our strongest characteristics as a community. A recent parent survey awarded us a 100% parental satisfaction rating. Our parents love the school as much as our children do. It is a school that focuses on the development of the whole child: building their confidence, nurturing their interests, inspiring them to achieve and providing opportunities to reach their full potential.
Whilst ensuring that academic development is paramount, the School takes great care to ensure that the children have the opportunity to participate in the fields of sport, music, drama and art, enabling them to discover their strengths and aptitudes.
At Aysgarth School, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional outdoor education opportunities for pupils to immerse themselves in nature in our 55-acre rural setting.
Wellness is a critical component of education. Focusing on wellness can help children achieve their goals and develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime. At Aysgarth School, the well-being of our pupils is just as important as their academic success. Our exceptional pastoral care offering helps us provide a healthy environment for our children to grow and thrive.
