ACS Cobham is a co-educational school for students aged 2–18. The success of the programme at ACS Cobham is based on teamwork, collaboration, and the broad participation of its international community. All students are treated as unique individuals, with equal potential to make a positive contribution to the school. The goal is to instil an enthusiasm for lifelong learning and a sense of global awareness in each student, along with the necessary skills to prepare them for the challenges and changes which lie ahead.
Heads Welcome
Welcome to ACS Cobham, where our diverse community creates a culture of global citizenship and academic excellence, ready to excel as people and thrive academically.
We celebrate scholarship, reward responsibility and are aware of the importance of our role in shaping the young people in our care. By promoting a broad and balanced curriculum we ready our students for an ever-changing world.
We foster independent critical thinking, an intrinsic love of learning, and a fundamental belief in the worth of each individual. The opportunities to develop beyond the classroom are key to our mission of producing well rounded, resilient individuals that can flourish on the world stage. Our team continually strives to promote the growth of the whole person as a confident and caring contributor to society. We see this as a pathway that inspires positive change in every one of us that is involved in the process.
Our diversity is our distinction. We ready our students to communicate effectively across borders, behave appropriately across cultures and empathise with each individual across a project team. The global constituency at ACS Cobham is an education in itself.
Are you ready to discover a school that prepares students for a world that demands a new kind of learning – and a new kind of citizen?
BARNABY SANDOW, HEAD OF SCHOOL
Academic Programme.
At ACS Cobham International School the academic programme offers both the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and Advanced Placement (AP) courses, creating a curriculum that meets the needs of a broad international student body. ACS graduates have established a tradition of attaining excellent exam results, enabling them to continue their studies at top universities around the world, including the US and UK.
Our world-renowned curriculum is based on international educational best practice and challenges our students to become service-orientated global citizens with inquisitive minds and the confidence to challenge the status quo. We work hard to create a dynamic learning environment and a culture of diversity and optimism – readying our students for an ever-changing world.
Facilities.
Situated on 128 acres approximately 30 minutes by train from Central London, ACS International School Cobham enrols over 1,400 students. Exceptional facilities include an Early Childhood village; purpose-built Lower, Middle, and High School buildings; gymnasium and cafeteria complex and two world-class boarding houses. All Lower, Middle and High School buildings have separate classrooms, science labs, libraries, computer labs, art and music studios and access to the school’s state-of-the-art Interactive Learning Centre.
Boarding at ACS Cobham.
The contemporary boarding houses sit within a secure, 128-acre campus with state-of-the-art sports, performing arts and teaching facilities; surrounded by beautiful Surrey countryside, yet still in close proximity to central London, with regular opportunities for boarders to visit the cultural and historical sites of the city.
ACS Cobham understands the perfect boarding experience balances academic success with stimulating co-curricular and weekend activities, so boarders are offered an extensive enrichment programme across the academic year to appeal to a wide range of interests.
Both houses offer premium accommodation and a multicultural ethos that celebrates the diverse student body we serve, offering a home-away-from-home experience for around 160 students, aged 12–18. Accommodation is impressive with light and airy common rooms and clean modern kitchens. All bedrooms are ensuite – mostly twins – but students in Year 12 have the option of a single.
At ACS Cobham our boarding students benefit from a wide range of activities outside of the classroom, from service and volunteering opportunities to sports and performing arts clubs, all of which are available to students throughout the school week. Each month we also offer stimulating excursions and activities
to London and the countryside. Encouraging our young people to challenge themselves helps develop skills and resilience that will benefit them inside and outside the classroom and ready them for the future.
We also understand the importance of leisure time when boarders can explore their individual interests such as art, music and sport, and quiet time when students just need time to refresh and recharge.
On arrival at ACS, we work with each boarder to identify their particular passions and interests to ensure they have the chance to cultivate these during their time with us, and that their programme of activities is balanced and healthy.
