Year 11 pupils, Marton H and Jack S, have both placed in the U16 Top 100 Tennis Players in Great Britain. This is a fantastic achievement for both boys, placing 30th and 93rd respectively.
This comes after a successful year which saw Marton finish in first place at the Regional Tournaments, and Jack placing first in the Hunstanton Tournament.
To place in the U16 Top 100 Tennis Players both Marton and Jack played around 200 games, travelling around the country most weekends, gathering points for each win to determine their overall ranking. Playing against both U16 and U18 players, the boys were pushed to their limits and are very proud of what they have managed to achieve.
Jack commented: “Playing games each weekend is a real joy and a challenge, I am excited to do it all again this year. When I am on the court there is no one else to blame for my short comings. It is just me and my opponent, and I love that about the game.”
Marton added: “I have been playing Tennis from a young age and it has taught me so much about time management and discipline. I am looking forward to the new year and hope to improve with each match.”
With aspirations to go on to American Universities in order to go professional, we are excited to see how they progress.
