The Dragon in Oxford has a long-standing reputation for inspiring the creativity and imagination of its pupils. From September 2020, the horizons of young Dragons will be broadened even further with the introduction of the DragonQUEST Saturday enrichment curriculum. Careful timetable planning has enabled the replacement of formal Saturday morning lessons with a more flexible and innovative approach, designed to appeal to all young Dragons – whether they are full boarders, flexible boarders or day children.
DragonQUEST is being introduced by Headmaster Dr Crispin Hyde-Dunn ‘in response to the diverse and evolving needs of modern Dragon families’.
Tim Knapp, Director of DragonQUEST, explains the careful design of the enrichment curriculum:
DragonQUEST will give children the opportunity to experience a wide range of new and inspiring activities to discover new talents, develop new skills and dare to embrace new challenges. As a school, we place extremely high value on pupil wellbeing, which has been a driving force behind this Saturday morning innovation.
The structure of DragonQUEST will allow each young Dragon to map out and personalise their own adventure path, enabling each child to develop into a more complete and rounded individual, ready to embrace the many challenges of life.
