Ryde School launches IBCP

Posted: 13th April 2016

Ryde School has launched a new International Baccalaureate Careers Programme (IBCP). Ryde is the first independent school in the UK to offer the IBCP alongside the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) and A level courses. In September 2015 the school also opened a newly refurbished sixth-form centre, two new science labs and a new sixth-form boarding house, offering weekly and full boarding options.

Pupils on the new IBCP course study three academic IB subjects as well as studying for a professional qualification in marine engineering, finance or sports and outdoor learning. Keen sailors are able to study for their yacht master qualification alongside their IBCP programme. Many of the pupils on the new course have also chosen to study Dutch, German or Norwegian as an additional subject and the school is designing a new course in sign language.
